Life's Answer

A wearying past full of many fears,
brings its victims to submission and tears.

But my God tenderly reaches out to hold our hand,
And we hear his gentle voice saying, "On me you can stand."

Family and friends often die or us dis-own,
Then over our past tormentations, our souls moan.

But Jesus comes to us as an eternal friend,
He knows our needs and does to them tend.

In this unforgiving and no-loving world,
At crumpled hearts, cutting and unfair arrows are hurled.

Jesus calls all saying, "Follow me . . . And I will give you rest"
And those who hear and answer his call are graciously blessed.
