THREE ANGELS' MESSAGE

To prepare a people to stand in the day of God, a great work of reform was to be accomplished. God saw that many of His professed people were not building for eternity, and in His mercy He was about to send a message of warning to arouse them from their stupor and lead them to make ready for the coming of the Lord.

This warning is brought to view in Revelation 14. Here is a threefold message that contains the most serious warning of a coming judgement to be found in scripture.

WHAT SAITH THE LORD

1.   In the first angels' message what gospel does he have, and to whom is it proclaimed? Revelation 14:6.

"And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people," Revelation 14:6.

2.   What is announced about the judgement hour? Revelation 14:7.

"Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters." Revelation 14:7.

3.   Whom are we called upon to worship? Revelation 14:7.

"Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters." Revelation 14:7.

4.   How is the true God distinguished from all false gods? Jeremiah 10:11, 12.

"Thus shall ye say unto them, The gods that have not made the heavens and the earth, even they shall perish from the earth, and from under these heavens. He hath made the earth by his power, he hath established the world by his wisdom, and hath stretched out the heavens by his discretion." Jeremiah 10:11, 12.

5.   For what reason is worship justly due to God? Psalms 95:3-6.

"For the LORD is a great God, and a great King above all gods. In his hand are the deep places of the earth: the strength of the hills is his also. The sea is his, and he made it: and his hands formed the dry land. O come, let us worship and bow down: let us kneel before the LORD our maker." Psalms 95:3-6.

6.   What memorial did God establish of His creative power? Exodus 20:8-11. (Also see Genesis 2:2, 3.)

"Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it." Exodus 20:8-11.

Also see -

"And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made. And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made." Genesis 2:2, 3.

7.   What place has the Sabbath in the work of salvation? Ezekiel 20:12.

"Moreover also I gave them my sabbaths, to be a sign between me and them, that they might know that I am the LORD that sanctify them." Ezekiel 20:12.

8.   What is the whole duty of man? Ecclesiastes 12:13, 14.

"Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man." Ecclesiastes 12:13, 14.

9.   What announcement immediately follows the judgement hour message? Revelation 14:8.

"And there followed another angel, saying, Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication." Revelation 14:8.

10.   In the vision of John, what interpretation is given to the woman who sat upon many waters? Revelation 17:18.

"And the woman which thou sawest is that great city, which reigneth over the kings of the earth." Revelation 17:18.

Note: The great city which reigned over the kings of the earth in John's time was Rome. The woman who represents a church, sat upon the beast or the Roman Empire and controlled Rome. This church started out as the Pagan Roman Religion which went underground for a while when the Roman Empire fell to the conquering tribes, and re-emerged as the Roman Catholic Church or the Papacy.

11.   In this same prophecy, how is the Roman Catholic Church designated as the anti-type of ancient Babylon? Revelation 17:5.

"And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH." Revelation 17:5.

12.   To what extent is the apostasy, or fall of modern Babylon, the mother, and of her daughters, to be carried? Revelation 18:2, 3.

"And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird. For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies." Revelation 18:2, 3.

Note: In the largest sense, Babylon includes all false religions, all apostasy. The gospel message announcing her final overthrow should be cause of rejoicing to every lover of truth and righteousness.

13.   What final call to come out of Babylon is to go forth? Revelation 18:4, 5.

"And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues. For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities." Revelation 18:4, 5.

14.   What does the message of the third angel warn against? Revelation 14:9.

"And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand,"
Revelation 14:9.

15.   What is the fate of those who, instead of worshipping God, engage in this false worship? Revelation 14:10, 11.

"The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb: And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name."
Revelation 14:10, 11.

16.   How are those described who heed this warning? Revelation 14:12.

"Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus." Revelation 14:12.

17.   What universal boycott is to be employed in an attempt to compel all to receive the mark or the name of the beast or the number of his name? Revelation 13:16, 17.

"And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name."
Revelation 13:16, 17.

Note: The woman of Revelation 17, who started out as the Pagan Roman Religion and became the Roman Catholic Church, sits upon or is the controlling power of the beast with seven heads and ten horns and the woman was drunk with the blood of the saints. The beast itself is the Roman Empire. At the beginning of Revelation 13 we see a beast coming to power with seven heads and ten horns (verse 1). This shows that this power exercises both ecclesiastical as well as civil authority. It was given to this power to make war with the saints, and to overcome them (verse 7). These two chapters in Revelation both refer to the Roman Empire and the ecclesiastical organization that controlled it which was the Roman Church, both Pagan and Papal. In Daniel 7 we read of a vision he had of four kingdoms which are the same four that Nebuchadnezzar dreamed of in the image (Daniel 2). These were Babylon, Medo-Persia, Greece, and Rome. Of this last kingdom it is said that it has ten horns, makes war with the saints and prevailed against them, speaks against the most high, and thinks to change times and laws (Daniel 7:24, 25).

18.   Which two of God's Ten Commandments have the Roman Catholic Church changed, and most of the Protestant Churches adopted for themselves? Exodus 20:4-6; 20:8-11.

1. " Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me; And showing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments." Exodus 20:4-6.

Note: By changing the Sabbath of the Lord from the seventh to the first day of the week, they have changed times. Along with this, they have changed the second Commandment to allow them to have idols, thereby changing laws, as prophesied by Daniel.

19.   Which of God's Ten Commandments contains: 1. His name; 2. His official position or right to rule; and 3. The kingdom or territory over which he rules; making it His seal? Exodus 20:8-11.

The Forth Commandment is the only Commandment in which is found God's name which is "the Lord thy God"; His official position or right to rule is Creator "the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is"; His kingdom "heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is." This makes the Forth Commandment His seal or sign. (See text above.)

20.   If God's seal is His Sabbath, the seventh day of the week, and the beast changed this to Sunday, the first day of the week, then what would the mark or the seal of the beast be?

Worshipping on Sunday.

Note: When the leading churches of the United States, uniting upon such points of doctrine as are held by them in common, shall influence the state to enforce their decrees and to sustain their institutions, then Protestant America will have formed an image of the beast or the Roman hierarchy, and the infliction of civil penalties upon dissenters will inevitably result. Once the law compelling all to worship on Sunday is enforced, then it becomes the mark of the beast.

21.   What is the number of the beast? Revelation 13:18

"Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six." Revelation 13:18.

Note: As the beast has already been identified as the Roman Catholic Church, then the number of beast must have some relationship to this power. The prophecy says it is the number of a man and one of the titles the Pope has is Vicarius Filli Dei. When the Roman numerals of this Roman name are added up the value is 666.

22.   Who are the ones that will have the right to the tree of life? Revelation 22:14.

"Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city." Revelation 22:14.

Commitment:- I believe that the mark of the beast is Sunday worship and the number of his name is 666.
